Following the 2020 Census, new state legislative boundaries were approved by Springfield Democrats without a single republican vote.
The state legislative district map for both chambers is still the subject of a ongoing federal litigation, so the final version of these maps may still yet be forthcoming.
The 54th district in the map below includes the communities of Petersburg, Litchfield, Taylorsville, Shelbyville and Effingham.
